Can cheaper USB C cables make phone hot while charging?

Some of my chargers does get my cell hot, but not enough to burn down the planet lol.. Just sometimes it will make my bed sheet warm, but not extremly hot in one spot.

That is what I am trying to figure out on my Moto Edge plus currently,the bottom of the speaker, the edges from time to time as well... I did made a thread of it a few days ago.
