Can hydro be used as wireless USB modem?

OK, so I replaced my Hydro with a GS 4 and since then its just been sitting in my junk drawer. Now I need a USB network adapter for wifi and was wondering if I could use the Hydro for that. It has no service but I have WiFi access. I'm hoping I can thether it and connect to my WiFi. I'm rooted too. Is this possible?

I do not believe it is possible. When you Tether or make a Hotspot, It disables WiFi. since you have no Service. It is not possible.
