Apps Can I build the OS and install it without Android?

Hi folks,

I'm tired of Android's slow user interface. I'd like to eventually code something better and faster... possibly in C++ using X Windows... we'll see.

BUT in the meantime I just need to build and install Linux from sources... including the drivers.

I of course want to leave out anything Java related including the GUI.

Is that even possible with the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer (TF101-A1?

Wait, so you want to install X Windows on your tablet? You realize that it will run even slower than android on this limited hardware, correct?
