Can I control an Android device over the internet with a tablet?

Barcode

Newbie
I have a Minix Neo G4 (Android PC) which I'm hoping can be controlled over the internet using an Android tablet. The Minix will be running XBMC in a hotel/pub environment and I need to be able to connect to the Minix and change what it is playing or upload a new file.

I can do it from a PC using AirDroid installed on the Minix but that only works when both devices are on the same network. Plus Airdroid on the Minix requires you to click on accept before it allows any communication. Obviously that's not an option for me.

So is there an app that i can install on a Samsung tablet (or phone) that will allow me to login to the Minix from afar/another network? Or is there an app that I can install on the Minix that will allow a tablet/phone to connect to it using an ip address or via a web site.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A VNC server on the Minix and a VNC viewer on the tablet. (You'll have to forward a port in the router the Minix is connected to, so that you can connect to the Minix from the outside world.)

Thanks for the reply Rukbat. I don't understand most of what you are recommending but I will do some googling and see how I go.

Airdroid2 enables Android-Android control over the web, but you have to set it up an Airdroid web account (so that Airdroid's servers know where your Android devices are and can then facilitate the connection). I uninstalled Airdroid many months ago, but I'm pretty sure that I tested it over the web and it worked fine.

TeamViewer lets you control PCs, Mac, or Linux PCs from your Android phone, but I'm not sure if it would work for an Android PC.

Webkey (free but please donate) enables web-browser-to-Android remote control for many Android devices. Even if your device isn't listed as supported, you might want to give it a try. For example, my mom's Samsung Android phone supposedly isn't supported but I installed Webkey anyway and it lets me control her phone over the Internet (which I do to provide tech support).
