Is there a way to simplify deleting text messages without having to confirm the deletion on my Razr Maxx? How about deleting a thread from within the thread itself? Thanks.

Yes.
You can delete a text within a text from Google's Messenger, I think you can with Textra too (haven't used it in a bit). I've never seen an option to bypass the confirmation/delete though, and I've used a few different ones. Possible I've missed it but don't recall seeing it in any of them.
