Can I disable the keyboard bubbling?

I'm wondering if there's a way I can keep the keyboard characters from popping out when you type. When you type in passwords it doesn't do that, which I like. I checked everywhere in the keyboard options but nowhere was I able to find an option to disable it.

Did I not look at the right place or am I just blind?

The only "predictive text" option I have will also disable XT9. Also, it does not disable character popping. I'm not talking about those words that pop up. I mean when you actually press a key, the letter pops up below your finger. I would like to disable that.

Don't think you can with the default keyboard, have you tried the swype keyboard? That just "lights" the key rather than bubbles it. If you're fine with using it, the "Talkback Keyboard" doesn't bubble or flash.

I think I like the Swype keyboard a little better. No key flashing and it's got a default comma! By that I mean you don't have to press a key to view other characters. One thing, though. No double space = period function?

swype is the best keyboard ive used. period. u can set swype to automatically add a space after a word, so u just need to add the period. the double tap thing is only on iphone i think, don think its on swype

Double tap for period can be set on the default keyboard, but I can't see a way of doing it on swype

ah right, i hadnt used the stock keyboard much.. i dont think its there on swype though.. instead of double tapping, tap space and tap the period :D u tap twice anyway. lol

What's with that? Don't the developers know that double space-periods are nice? I went the whole day trying Swype and I do like it, but it's just missing that period thing.

Going back to the stock Samsung keyboard for now I guess... :(

what you are talking about is "Character Preview"

Open up a message (or anything that requires typing with the keyboard) > hold the button directly choose settings (little gear icon that looks like a flower) > scroll down and uncheck "Character Preview".

All good now :)
