Can i downgrade my phone to android 2.1 update1?

hello i have a Samsung galaxy 5 and have currently updated my phone from 2.1 update1 to 2.2.

My problem now is that the phone sometimes freeze up and the battery is always warm which mean less and worse battery time.

My question however is there a way to downgrade it to android 2.1 update1 again?

Have you first tried a factory reset? Sometimes it helps to clear out any bugs that occur in a software update.
If you really want to move back to 2.1, it will require root.

I hate to give you the run around but I have no clue how on your phone. Heck, its not even sold in my country. Plus, your going to need to find the ROM for 2.1 for your phone, which for some reason, I'm having a hard time finding. They are all 2.2 ROMs.

Your best bet is asking a forum specifically for your phone. I can't find it here on Android Forums, but xda has a section for it. Mind you, since your device is pretty old now, if the forums are slow, it may take awhile to get a response. Make sure to set up a subscription to the thread so you will get an email if someone posts.
