Root Can I get back to stock?

I need links for stock rom and everything for a Precedent.

Buddy of mine tried rooting it now all it does is get to samsung loading screen then turns black and stays that way. It'll boot into CWM Recovery fine. Just want to put it back to stock so I can root it for him and backup stocdk before I put on a custom ROM.
