Help Can I get rid of these features?

Hey guys,
I'm new here, and first post, so please don't go crazy if I do something wrong :P

My phone updated the other day, and I think, changed some of the settings.
Before the update, when my notifications screen was showed, there was no 'quick settings' tab at the bottom right.
Also, before, on the main apps page, I was able to scroll through the apps freely, wheras now, it scrolls page by page.
I would rather not have these features, is there anyway to turn off/get rid of them?

You can't get rid of the quick settings tab (I find it quiite handy though). Same with the way the app drawer scrolls.

However, you can install apps like Go Launcher, ADW or Launcher Pro which will allow you to change the way app drawer scrolls, transition between homescreens and icons associated with system apps. You'll lose access to some of the Sense Widgets, but it's worth it as it makes your handset a lot more customisable.

To get back to scrolling through the apps freely, tap the all apps button, tap menu, tap List, now it will scroll freely, to revert to staggered scrolling, (from all app menu) tap Menu, then tap Grid.

You could try find a ROM that doesnt have those options in it... im not sure if there is one though

This doesn't do what the OP wants, all it does is change the grid to a list. The OP wants to get back to the different way the grid scrolled before the update (to 2.3.3 ..). It used to scroll smoothly without stopping. Now it stops at the end of every page.

Personally I prefer the new way but know of no way to get it back to the old way.

Not sure if you want the sense widgets or not but if you download launcher pro it will scroll through the apps freely.

Not on my phone, sorry. Scrolls all the way from start to end, all apps, in one go.

2.3.3 (2.36.405.8)

Yeah.. mine does too.. I can see it's divided into 3 "pages" but there is no stutter or stall between the pages so the scroll goes all the way from start to end really smoothly.

Umm. That demonstrates what I was saying happens all along. In list view it carries on scrolling but grid view stops at the end of a a page. This was something that came along with 2.3.3 and what the OP complained about. So I'm not sure what you're saying with the vid. as list view scrolls smoothly but grid view goes page by page. The OP complained about the changes to grid view ......

One extra trick with the list view is that it supports two-fingered scrolling, which will move quickly through the list, letter-by-letter. Grabbing the scroll bar achieves the same thing.

Yup, I suddenly realised what an idiot I am. I didn't notice that, well, nvm, I'm just an idiot. Sorry for stuffing you around with my insistance that list view looks the same as grid view... My bad.

No woories. I did think after I'd posted that last one that we'd both just mis-understood each other's point. That's the trouble with forums (and email and text!) ... :D But hey, got there in the end and we're all friends now .. :eek:
