Help Can I go back to 4.2??

If you flash a pre-Knox ROM you will blow the efuse and may (or may not) end up with warranty issues and won't be able to flash a stock ROM any more.

Some of the 4.2 ROMs, like the one my S4 came with, didn't have Knox, which is how I rooted my phone without blowing the efuse. You should be able to use one of the later ones after Samsung implemented the Knox functionality no problem though. I cannot remember which version this happened on but all the details are available in the root sub-forum.

Having issues on 4.2 and just want to go back to 4.2, is it doable??

Thanks

Please clarify. If you're already on 4.2, why would you want to go back to it? If you mean you're on 4.3 and want to go back, unfortunately, the answer is no.

Yes, im on 4.3 S4 EE 4g Uk.

I have no idea about all this stuff mentioned above, root and knox but am a quick learner.

Wifi issues and the phone hangs for a couple of seconds regularly which is why I want to go back as this has been out for sone time but no fixes yet??

So can it or cant it??

Yhanks

Well if it was a system update, you can not as all the new firmwares have a locked bootloader and if you recently updated to 4.3 it means yoi can not go back too 4.2 sorry.
The majority of us with rooted phones did Root on earlier 4.2 firmwares as it was easier no Knox or locked bootloaders

Just because it was a system update does not mean you can't go back. The only problem is going to 4.3. You can not go back to any 4.2x release or earlier from 4.3. Just the way it is, at least for now. Maybe some developer will figure out a solid way to do it, but not right now that I'm aware of.

OK, thanks for the answers. So are they likely to release a fix anytime soon?

Wifi issues now and a weird hang every so often for a couple of seconds and its friggin annoying now!

You could try wiping the cache partition in Recovery, see, here, in the first instance. Failing that, a Factory Data Reset as described, here.
