Root Can i install custom roms being S-On on my device?

I have HTC desire hd..It is currently rooted and have unlocked bootloader..and i am S-ON on my deive. I have currently flashed a custom rom (jellytime).

My question is that , can i flash EACH and EVERY rom being S-ON on my device or do some custom roms require S-OFF only?

I had the One X, which hasn't been S-OFF'd and I was able to flash every ROM released for it.

If the bootloader unlock works the same on the DHD, I think you'll be ok.

Unless you flash a ROM that wasn't meant for your device (meant for a different phone etc), then it's virtually impossible to brick a device via the HTC Unlock method.

so should i flash each and every rom using with same method i.e. first flash rom and then flash boot.img? their is no risk involved in it if anything goes wrong?

I've flashed pretty much all of the available ROMs that I could find and I've not had any issues; even flashed one that was not for this phone (not recommended) and all was well. I still have s-on.

It's a pain to keep flashing the boot.IMG all the time but I use a portable fastboot folder, and keep it on the SD so I can flash the IMG from any available PC. It's come in handy a few times.

You can use the folder if you want.

Just extract the folder to a PC, then replace the boot.img inside the folder with the one for the ROM or backup your flashing, and run the "RUN ME to flash boot img.bat." (with the phone in fastboot)

With this folder, you don't need to have ADB installed to flash the boot.img
