ROMs Can I make an SBF file?

Hello wise forum,

I have a large number of Motorola Admiral XT603 that I need to flash to wipe the administrator privelages that came with the phone and are restricting use of the camera. Reloading the stock update.zip will not work from the SD card for some reason (device busy error).

I have RSD Lite and I downloaded my firmware here from Dev-Hub.
  • I've noticed that there is no SBF file or any other file format that RSD Lite will recognize.
  • An exhaustive search yields no existing SBF/FXZ on the internet for the XT603.
  • Can I make a file that will turn this stock android zip into something I can flash with RSD Lite?

Alternatively, I see RSD Lite directions talk about editing an XML document. I do not see one for the previous zip file. Can I make one?

Your help would be appreciated as we have several thousand dollars worth of these phones to recoup.

Thank you,

Will

You can make an xml file even in notepad, it's just text. You can also write plays like Shakespeare, since that's also just text. The problem is the same, though - knowing what text to put in there. If you know what text the xml file needs, write it. (Just one caution - if it's going to be used with a *nix tool of any kind, use a text editor that does *nux line endings. Linux will choke on Windows or Mac line endings. Text Pad, Edit Plus, or any text editor running in Linux, will do the job.)
