Hello all,
I am very new to this all, new to Android, new to G1, new to this forum, and I was not really able to find out which is the right forum to post this question ...
However, my question is rather simple: (how) can I replace my palm handheld with the G1?
The old Palm OS had four main applications, Contacts, Calendar, ToDo and Notepad, which were two-way-synced with the Palm Desktop Software on my PC. This is exactly what I want to be able to do.
So, Contacts are no problem. Calendar is no problem.
To-Do-List is a little problem. I found some ToDo-List-Apps in the market which are able to synchronize with some third party ToDo-Apps in the internet. This is a little annoying since I need a separate account to sync my ToDos.
Finally the simplest of all, Notepad, I couldn't solve. I found some notepad apps, but none of them seemed to be two-way-synced with something I can access from my PC.
I searched forums, Google, but is there really nobody out there who tries to replace good old Palm OS Handheld with an Android phone??
Bonus question:
Until now, I use a six years old Garmin iQue 3600 Palm OS handheld. In it's extended Palm OS, it is possible to add geographical coordinates to contacts to view them on the map or to navigate to them. Of course, I would like to transfer my contacts from Palm to Android without losing the coordinates ... and with the ability to display them on a map ...
Marcus.
