Can I switch carriers

Obviously, only CDMA carriers or what have you, but is it possible? Was hoping/planning on switching to a pay-as-you-go carrier because I can't really afford boost mobile's 55/mo. :/
 
As what he said, it's pretty good to have. 9.99 for some talk and text plus 5$ of data you're good to go or if you want unlimited talk and text go for their 19.99 plan unfortunately this doesn't include picture messaging if that's what you need. Also the fine print will be plus taxes, it should all have that information that wetbiker posted :)
