Help can I switch internal sdcard with external sdcard

nrok

Lurker
I have unrooted zte n9520 4.4.2 (hope that's right way to say it!)
My question is about the internal/external/data storage. Can I unmount and swap the 4gb factory sdcard with the 32gb sandisk sd card I purchased it? I know it's physically possible, but is it ok? Thanks

As usual, the more I research something the less I understand! However, now I know my device came with 4gb UICC card, I called it external storage, and 2gb internal with slot for a microSD card. Is that correct?? Now I have way more questions tho :-) Mostly, is the 32gb sd card I bought with it basically worthless? My impression is if you take the uicc out it causes problems, it's not simply unmount card and insert bigger card?? If so, why have microsd slot at all when from everything I read it's not possible to access it anyway without root?
Thank you!!

Hi there!

You can indeed use a Micro SD Card with this phone. There's a spot where you need your sim removal tool to access it! It is on the left hand side if you're looking at the phone, I believe.

Is it useless to have one? That is all what you do with it. While you cannot place apps on the SD card with this phone, you can store music, movies, and photos and such on the SD card.

Hope that clarifies things!

With over 11GB of ROM, I keep my apps stored locally.
I have over 100 apps and still have about 6GB of free space.
I have a 32GB SD Card for media.
11GB of on-board storage is plenty.

Also,am looking to switch/swap SD cards around. I see the mount points in vold.fstab file and am trying to figure this out. I rooted with kingo root by the way.
