Can I switch the metropcs f6 to tmobile?

Hello, my family has been using the LG esteem with metropcs since it came out but its starting to have many problems so its time to move on. I would like to join tmobile but the phone cost around 200$ and I will be needing 5 for my family, its 100$ at metropcs right now.

I have seen this question a few times on google and they all got the same response I did with tmobile spokesman, that it can be done if it meets certain criteria which you can't really tell till you try.

So my question is can metropcs LG optimus f6 be switched to tmobile?
Also, has any one tried it?

I believe T-mobile phone work on Metro network straight out of the box, but MetroPCS phones need to be unlock first.

LG Esteem is a CDMA phone which is why you're having problems. MetroPCS GSM is the same network as T-Mobile.

MetroPCS GSM phone does not work with T-mobile SIM straight from the box. You need to unlock the phones first to be able to work with T-mobile SIM.

I have LG F6 and Alcatel OT Fierce. both have to be unlocked first in order the T-Mobile SIM Card and others...

I have switched three F6 phones from MetroPCS to T-Mobile.

You'll need to unlock the phone, I used unlockonline.com to do mine.

I also flashed a T-Mobile rom to mine, rooted it, and ran Pressy4Pie's SD/internal memory swap so I have 16gb of internal memory and 16gb of external storage, which is more than my Galaxy S4 has.
