can i upgrade to android 2.0 on my htc hero?

Doing a search here and elsewhere, I am confused -- is android 2.0 out yet? I have my HTC Hero via Sprint and the 2.0 upgrade is not yet available on their download site. I called Sprint customer service and they said it would NOT negate my Sprint support if I did an upgrade to 2.0 but they could not give me details on how or where to upgrade.

The big thing about upgrading to 2.0 is that I understand (I think) that 2.0 will allow me to have MULTIPLE gmail accounts on the Hero, whereas with 1.6 I can only have one.

Can anyone help?

2.0 is not out and it prob will not come out and just right to 2.1. the most current sprint version is

Current Version: Software – 1.56.651.2 Firmware – 1.5

2.0 and 2.1 are both out but htc needs to update them so that they run with the sence ui if you root your phone you can get a basic 2.0/2.1
