Can I use a VZW Note2 outside of the US?

I'll be visiting family in Scotland for 3 weeks and leaving on Saturday. Lots of things have changed since the last time I was there and a cellphone would be handy there!

Does anybody know if a simple SIM card swap would work there with a verizon phone?

For voice and text, yes. VZW LTE phones are SIM unlocked out of the box. Now I read the latest OTA was supposed to allow you to use foreign data but I haven't been able to modify APN information. If you try data and it works, let me know please.

Of course, if your rooted then foreign data is easy.

Verizon has a global data plan so you an get 100mb for $25.

Voice and text is all I'm looking for when I'm there so as long as I can buy a SIM card there I I should be good
