Help Can I use Verizon GN as GPS in Canada?

It definitely will (it might just take a little longer to lock on since it won't be able to download GPS data from the towers). You just need to find a way to download the maps for offline use.

Unless your really good at reading coordinates to judge your position.

also can't you only load a 10mile radius of a selected area in maps? or can you adjusts that to a bigger ROI (region of interest) ?

I believe that's the maximum of one cache but you can do several to encompass a larger area. Haven't done it myself but it looks like others have.

I saved a region and it seemed larger than 10 miles radius. Looks like the limit on my phone is more like 30 miles radius.

Yep, you should be able to save multiple caches. Keep in mind, it's just a pinpoint- there won't be any directions or nav without data/wifi.

Oh, weird, thanks. I'm curious why it can't do directions/nav without data.

Because none of the information is stored on the phone normally. Its all computed by Google's servers. It seems that Google's built in offline Maps functionality is still pretty rough around the edges. I wish it was like the Nokia Maps application on my E63. Download the Maps for each state, and has the ability to search street names and such. Takes up a crapload of space, but its worth it.
