Ok, I am guessing that you installed a ROM that requires a separate flash of the Google apps. So, for a ROM like that, you'd need to take the following steps (listed generally and not specifically):

- restart in Recovery
- Nandroid backup
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Wipe Dalvik cache
- flash CM7 ROM of choice
- if required, also install Google apps zip
- restart the phone.

So, the first question is, which CM7 ROM did you install?

[Moving this thread to "All things root"].

I sort of answered this is the other thread that you created, but to answer these questions with questions of my own:

- how did you root the phone? Which method did you use? Do you have a link that shows the steps

- did you make a Nandroid backup of your phone before you installed the Gingerbread ROM? (My guess is no, based on your other thread)

- yes, there is a way to return to stock - it's fairly easy - but the best answer depends on your response to my first two questions above. (Also, I think if you properly install the Gingerbread ROM with Google apps then you may be happier with it. This, however, is the great beauty of the Nandroid backup - it makes it simple to return your phone to another ROM.)

i would like to try the condemmed mod <think thats wat its called > but i i want the apps !!!

KGB was, unfortunately, never really finished to a point where it was a stable, working ROM. It's a shame that so many Google searches point to that (I assume that's what happens, anyway), because even for those of us who are quite experienced at it, KGB was hard to get running.

Anyway, Condemned is a good choice. That one does *not* require you to install the Google apps - they are integrated into the ROM.

You should be able to find it here: [ROM] 1/8/12 Condemned CM 7.2 V22 (2.3.7) R.I.P. - xda-developers (look for the link that says "Condemned CM7 V22 R.I.P. - Vanilla".) Download this file and copy it to the SD card. (If you are unable to run the phone to the point where you can copy the file over, the steps I list at the bottom.)

After the file is moved to the SD card, make sure that the phone is shut down and the battery has a good charge. Then, do the following steps:

- While holding the VolUp key, start the phone. You can release the key as soon as you see the skateboarding Androids.
- this should start Recovery. Trackball down to the "Wipe" menu and click
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Wipe Dalvik cache
- Press VolDn to return to the main menu
- Press Flash a zip from SD card
- choose the Condemned zip file
- when it tells you it is done, restart the phone from the top menu

Go through the setup process. When things are set up to your satisfaction, press and hold the power key to bring up the menu. Choose Reboot phone, and then choose Recovery. You may have to press Allow in the SU (SuperUser) app to give the reboot phone option permission.

This should restart the phone in Recovery.

- go to the Backup/restore menu
- Nand backup
- when that is done, press VolDn to return to the main menu and restart the phone.

Now you have a backup that you can always go back to if things go bad in the future.

Lastly, from above, if you are unable to copy files from your phone right now, you can do so from Recovery.

- with the phone shut off, holding the VolUp key, start the phone. You can release the key as soon as you see the skateboarding Androids.
- this should start Recovery. Connect your phone to your computer by USB cable.
- Go to USB/MS toggle and press the trackball
- this will mount your SD card to your computer. Copy the Condemned file over to the SD card; when that is done, remove the drive safely from the computer, and then press the trackball to return to the Recovery menu. You can continue from the second step at the top (go to the "Wipe" menu.)
