Can not set Ninja SMS as default app

Ugh, this is giving me a headache and it doesn't seem like it should be this hard.

I recently installed Ninja SMS on my LG Lucid 2. It's rooted and I've frozen a few things (Bloatware and firmware update, etc) in titanium backup, just in case you think that might be the problem.

Ok, so, I go to my gallery, click the share icon for a picture, and ninja SMS is NOT listed as an option, only the pre-loaded LG messenger app. I've cleared the LG messenger default launch settings in application manager, and Ninja SMS is set as my default SMS app. When I went to send a SMS from my contacts it gave me the standard "Just once, or Always" option box and I picked Ninja SMS, but other things don't seem to recognize it as a messenger app. For instance in bacon reader, if I click "Share Link." only my default messenger app is listed, no Ninja SMS again.

I tried Default APP Manager from the app store, and when I click messenger, there is just a green check next to my pre-loaded LG messenger app, Ninja SMS is not listed anywhere... Also, inside Ninja SMS settings, the "Default Messenger app" setting is grayed out, and I'm unable to click on it.

I've been googling for a few hours here and I guess I've hit a wall. Any ideas? I've been going through Titanium Backup and re-enabling things here and there, but so far no luck, am hoping someone might have a clue for me here.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE! SORRY IF THIS IS THE WRONG FORUM!
