Help Can not set SMS center

I have a strange issue with my new XPeria Mini. I can not send SMS messages. If I enter the phone number of my provider under SMS center, the number is not saved.

Is this a know issue, or maybe I'm missing something very obvious?

Hey I just got the X10 Mini Pro a few days ago. I updated to 2.1 right from start. I am having the same sms issue. I try to set the sms center in the network settings but no luck I also tried dialing *#*#4636#*#*, I get to a system menu where the options to set SMS center number also exists but I still can not set the SMS center number.

This is the number I've been using: +13123149810

i am looking everywhere for this info except does anyone know what my smsc number would be if im in australia???? or is it still this american one??/

If it will not save then I would advise running a repair via PC Companion as the handset should pull the service number straight from the SIM anyway.
