Can not update to 2.3.6

I tried to update to 2.3.6 via ota but it says update failed 0x8001007A

Try to manually update via Kies and PC. Generally works better than OTA.

back up your data, reset your phone to factory settings and then try updating again

been there,done that i also have deleted dalvik cache from sticky abovedoes this is cause of error

You should have asked them if it was not released officially then how is it available via OTA? That guy was just bullshitting. Maybe you should write to them or go to another service center.

Good Lord anyone who talks like that should not be allowed inside a service center of any mobile phone company. I think you should give this feedback to Samsung India.

Is your phone still in warranty then you could visit another service center & get it done. That would be a safe option.

I am facing the same Issue, Also when trying to upgrade with KIES it says " Doesnt support updates with KIES" Did you manage to find the reason ?

Phone is not rooted, on stock ROM

PDA:JPKP9, Phone XWKS2 and CSC JPKP3

yeah but i have unrooted it before updating

I had rooted my phone too but was unable to get it unrooted so i flashed official 2.3.6 via odin and works fine.... consider this options as well....

Thanks to all people who helped me, my problem is solved I used odin for flashing to 2.3.6 very simple procedure, by the way lock screen and battery life is good
But I expected more internal memory and more ram
