can one lock phone?

Is there some way to manually lock my phone (short of rebooting it)?

I've got Android 9 on Moto G7 with Action Launcher 40.1

Can you be more specific? Like using a lockscreen? Not exactly sure what you are asking.

Oops, sorry, never mind, I think I figured it out. I discovered how to re-invoke (yes, ocnbrze, thanks for your reply!) the lockscreen by following the instructions to (add a) Lockdown (option to the power button menu) at https://www.computerworld.com/article/3297039/android-pie-security-setting.html
I like it.

Also sorry my question about locking was ambiguous, it sounded like I might want to physically attach it to something with an actual padlock or something.
