Hello All
I am living abroad in China and thinking about buying a Galaxy S to be used here. The version that I am ordering will be coming from HK. I've done alot of read up and want to clear some mumble jumble out of the way in regards to Kies and updating the android OS.
What I'm curious about is if an OS update comes out, will I as a Galaxy user be able to update the OS via kies even though I am not using the phone in the region that it was originally meant for? The phone being from HK and me using it in China.
I wouldnt want to be stuck with a phone and be dicked out on OS upgrades just because I am not living in the proper region. Other than Kies can I update the OS via other methods, is it possible to DL the file for the OS update and flash it to the phone via non-Kies method the same way people flash ROM's onto their phones?
Sorry for all the noober boober questions but your inputs are much appreciated!
