Root can someone explain safestrap please

Freshly rooted ics .232 and looking to try a rom (suggestions greatly appreciated), i am going to safestrap over bootstrap because i read safestrap can be used on a cold boot...how do i do this and i don't understand what it means by a safe side or two OS ...a lil lost and hoping to do this tonight
 
You can get Bootstrap to work on a cold boot (which I still use), but it's not as foolproof as Safestrap.
