Can someone tell me why I need this?

I bought a chromecast today from best buy an have yet to open it. What can this device do that I cant do with my PS3 or HDMI connection to my phone, tablet, or PC? It's not as if chromecast has 1:1 mirroring so I'm able to play emulators or games on my TV. Please, convince me to not put this thing on Craigslist. Thanks

Cord-free, cross-platform HD content streamed direct to your TV and controlled by almost any device.

Since Google released the SDK for it at launch, I ordered one for what it can do in the future rather than what it does now. Sending YouTube videos to my TV isn't worth $35 but the idea that it may be able to work with my NAS or even stream music through Spotify someday makes it worth the risk for me.

Lets say you only have 1 device that could connect to Netflix or Youtube. You need to work on that device (phone or tablet or laptop) but your son wants to watch cartoons on Netflix. You could start it on Chromecast on the TV and go back to do your work. :p

So I have a roku in the bedroom and a vizio internet connected tv in the living room. And I have HDMI out on my phone to mirror my phone to the TV. So why do I want this so much? I have no use for it but I really want it lol.

I'm hoping the CHROME browser (mobile) will be CAST-enabled soon. Seems odd that it isn't. (or, am I overlooking the obvious here?)

I think it's only chrome desktop for now. The cast button is a downloaded extension. Not sure if mobile chrome support extensions.

Hulu Web only content is the reason I got mine. Also tv streams for website only. Hated that xbox and samsung smart player was not able to get some shows.
