Can 't type in a number when prompted during a call

Hello,

I have a Galaxy Ace from O2 and when I call certain numbers like customer care I amn't able to type numbers when prompted eg dial 1 for postpay,dial 2 for prepay etc.

Is there any way of doing this?

Sometimes I can pull down screen and press green button with phone beside it but generally not.

I'm using Android version 2.3.3 and proximity sensor is on.

When you're in a call, when the screen turns back on from the proximity sensing, there should be a icon/button that says "show/hide keypad"

That's there but the problem is that the screen is constantly going blank. I press the middle button and it comes back for a second but it goes again then.

I have a sticky cover that covers the screen on the front of the phone also if that makes any difference.

You might try to 1) prolongue the screen's time-out setting 2) shut off the proximity sensor.
If you don't mind putting the phone on speaker, this is what I do: dial the number when the phone is laying flat on the table, put phone on speaker. The screen then won't go blank and you can keep using the keypad.

You might try to 1) prolongue the screen's time-out setting 2) shut off the proximity sensor.

The second one is probably the most direct solution. (settings>call settings>additional settings>untick 'proximity setting') but certainly for calling automated servicws you will want a longer screen timeout than 30 seconds.

I tend to do what you do with speakerphone. Leave prox. sensor on and what I find is that if you are patient it will self-cancel. Just have to get used to it.

found a solution that worked for me. This issue happened to me after I updated my phone to the latest lollipop firmware. All I did was download True dialer from the playstore. After I did that I tried calling my voicemail and it worked. Then I tried calling my voicemail from the original phone app and it worked. So I would definitely try to see if this works for you .
