Help Can the default tab on "Phone" be changed?

I just came over from the iPhone world and been pretty happy with the phone. But one little thing is bothering the heck out of me: whenever I click on the "Phone" button/icon the S2 puts me on the "Keypad" tab. Well, 99% of the time, I call my wife, daughter, or other "Favorites", so the first thing I have to do is click on the "Favorites" button.....and do that over and over and over....because the S2 doesn't simply leave the Phone app on whatever tab I left it.

The strangest part is that I could have sworn that the S2 used to not do that! I think when I first bought it it either defaulted to the "Log" tab or stayed on whatever tab I left it on.....so it seems like something happened to change its behavior from ok to annoying.

I could not find any settings that let me change the behavior. Can someone help? I know it's such a minor thing, but it's one extra click I really don't need.

I set up speed dial so I can just press #2 to call my wife and #3 for my daughter and so on.
Hadn't noticed that it always goes to the keypad.
Now it will bother me. :)

Someone may have a better answer for this than I do but I found the 'Buddy' widgets work great for frequently used contacts.

Set a few up on one of your home screen pages and use those to quick text/email/call the wife/kid/other.

I barely use the dialer anymore unless I'm calling an 800 number or something.
