Help Can the Note 4 replace pen/paper for note-taking in college?

Hello everyone! I currently own a Samsung Galaxy S4, but would like to upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The main reason for the switch is because I am interested in the S-Pen and its many functionalities. My question is, will I be able to effectively use the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 as my main note-taking apparatus, or will such prove to be difficult due to the screen's size? Has anyone here done this before? What were your experiences like?

Thanks!

I think the S-pen could work for jotting down lecture notes, but I would be very tempted to keep a couple of pens and notebook handy as well, just in case the app crashes or the phone reboots or the battery dies during a lecture. If you're having to take down a lot of notes, might find the screen size limiting and may have to do a lot of scrolling and/or page flipping, which could be a tedious and annoying distraction.

Is your school, college or uni happy to have students with phones, tablets and other personal tech out on their desks during class. Because I know most schools and colleges in this country, do not, except for a calculator.

Maybe a NotePro 12.2" would be more appropriate, the extra screen real estate would make note taking and sketching far easier.

If I was inclined to buy a tablet it would definitely be a windows tablet with full functionality, but not a surface because they are over priced.

As for note taking, I take notes on my note 2 in the office l the time, but I type them.
