Can the VM startup be changed?

I had an Optimus Elite in the past and was able to change the startup to a much less obnoxious version. Can the Volt's be changed without rooting the phone?

You can't even access that area of any phone without root, so no.

Are you talking about the visuals or just the sound on startup?

I don't have a Volt yet (but soon), but on my other (pre kitkat phones) I have been able to kill the startup sound by installing this "Android Assistant" app:

There is a checkbox somewhere in the settings to stop the boot up sound (and you don't have to be rooted - at least on the phones I used). You can even uninstall the app after you set it and the sound will still stay silent on boot.

Like I said, I have not tried it on a Volt. Good Luck.

Thanks. You are correct. Just activated the Volt and thankfully there is no sound with the VM animation as was the case on my other phones. It is sad we can't change the animation without rooting. The Volt seems like a good phone so far. Less glitchy than the Optimus F3 I had before it.
