Root Can we force connection with other carriers towers for coverage outside our box?

Can we do a PRL hack, or have a root apk to force roam?
I hate going somewhere and my friends have full coverage on their Verizon or ATT and T Mobil phones, and I have that stupid RED X and ! Triangle saying NO DATE COVERAGE! Obviously there is a network there, everyone around you has it! But how can I connect to it? Without surrendering my first born child and a leg in charges to do so?

My VM coverage is horrible.... I really thinking about going else where, dont want to abandon my Volt, I hope my Volt can pull through yet again and help me out?

Unfortunately no. Even if you could connect to a competitors tower you would not authenticate thru their network.

Yea, no you cant steal service from another carrier lol. The only one this may work on is the sprint prepaid version of the volt because sprints prepaid plans include 50 minutes of voice only roaming. So you may be able to force roam it for those 50 minutes of voice only. A phone has to be authenticated on the tower as the previous person said. It registers and authenticates on the network end not the phone end. Roaming aint cheap and thats why prepaid usually is lower than postpaid. Unfortunatly if you arent getting signal with virgin/sprint its time to look for a new carrier. Theres plenty of cheap prepaid options out there. Check out companies like metro pcs which runs on tmobile. Or cricket wireless which runs on att.
