Can you back-up the apps you've downloaded?

theres an app called mybackup

I did not back them up, but they were all syncronized on market waiting to be reinstalled. It was seamless!

How did the reat of the install go?

What about the configuration settings for the apps? Were they retained?
What about other configuration settings like voicemail number and email setup?
What about links between the different contact lists like Facebook?
Anything else I forgot?

I'd also like to know about things like keeping SMSs, apps' configuration files and saved data (e.g. progress in a game or high-scores table). Is this automatically restored? If not, can I use MyBackup, or do I then risk restoring some old-firmware related stuff over some new-firmware related stuff, if you see what I mean?

When you are done the update you have a factory phone like out of the box.

I went through the startup wizerd and setup gmail, facebook accounts and it immediately synced my contacts up.

I downlaoded apps from market and used aMYBACKUP to restore my phone logs and sms msgs.

Dont forget to resetup the APN
