Help Can you Brick Your Phone when using rooting apps?

Hi Friends,
I read somewhere that it was not possible to brick your phone if you use the rooting apps since the process is not messed with, is that true? Thanks in advance!

Sure you can. Not all root apps work on all devices. They must be compatible. And used properly. Anything is possible. Do your homework first, have a recovery plan in case things go badly and don't forget the backups!

Really? Wow, I thought you couldn´t since that is what I read here. http://www.amongtech.com/root-android-without-computer/ I thought since it was the app that did the entire process, there was no room for error. That the real danger was rooting with a PC.

When you say "rooting apps", do you mean an app that roots your phone, or apps that you use on your phone after you're rooted?

If the former, the apps (towelroot is the app I presume you're referring to) will tell you if it will work before hand. But regardless of the method you use to root, there's always an element of risk involved.

If you mean the latter, then you absolutely can soft brick your phone with apps you use after rooting. I've seen countless phones in an usable state because people don't read or have don't have a backup and they've messed with the build.prop etc.

oh I see. Thanks. When choosing an app to root you phone, what is important, the android version you have or your phone, or both?
