I guess wgat im asking is is there a way to see if my husbands email has an account on a site but didnt want it to send him an email about account creation or log in as a result that he might see?

I would think someone would use a new email address / account, or an alias of their existing email account if they wanted to hide something; though I think a reply to an alias name on an existing email account would appear in the same inbox if memory serves * so a disposable alias name only helps protect your identity from the site.
Normies don't think like that. You and I are geeks, we wouldn't be here otherwise, but I can't even talk people into encrypting their mail. They're so proud to have learned how to click the clicky thing or touch the touchy thing that they're perfectly okay with telling strangers their innermost secrets.
