Can you de-Samsung the S10?

The Mrs. is looking to upgrade her aging, but perfectly serviceable husband Galaxy S7 Edge. We stopped at the AT&T store ad saw the S10's on display (as well as the LG V40's). They are doing BOGO's on both. She has always been a Samsung person, but I've never been a fan. If we go with a pair of 10's how much of the "Samsungness" can be removed from the device?

I believe you're stuck with the samsung-ness unless you root and install a custom rom if they make any for it.

You can also use ADB without root to disable or uninstall from user-space any apps you wish, but it'll still have some samsung-ness.

Just remember, AT&T doesn't release their updated firmware. Usually you can only find the version that was installed on the phone at the factory before shipping unless someone gets s leaked version at XDA.
AT&T also seems to install a lot more bloat on their branded versions than other carriers.

From my experience, that has changed much for the better. My last AT&T phone came with 4 AT&T apps, all which could be immediately disabled. As soon as the phone was registered on their network for the first time it did prompt to download a bunch more, but that was easily declined and it didn't nag you past that initial "offer".

To be fair, i haven't spent a lot of time with One UI. I'll have to go back to the store and play a little. I'd hate to plunk down that kind of cash on something that was going to drive me nuts.
