Help Can you downgrade Android firmware?

I have a 16 GB Nexus 7. It currently has 4.2.2 The ability to use the wiiremote has been lost, as I'm sure many of you know. I pretty much bought the console for the purpose of using it as an emulator...

So I'm wondering if it's possible to downgrade my Nexus 7 so that it can be compatible with wiimote again?

Is it possible? Does it cause any issues?

I'd really appreciate any help. Thank you.

May or may not be possible ...

Hopefully someone with this knowledge will chime in to assist you further.

Thread moved. :)

Ah yes, this would appear to be a better spot lol

Another question I have to, is if there would be problem with emulators? Like latest addition of NES, SNES and N64 running on an older version of Android on Nexus?

Also I have nothing on the device either, so having the memory wiped or anything like that isn't an issue.

It ought to be possible. Check or ask in here: Nexus 7 - All Things Root - Android Forums

I'm no expert but I believe Google has archives for all versions of Android for most devices so you should be able to unlock the tablet (which wipes EVERYTHING) and flash whatever version makes you happy. I'm pretty sure there are tricks to avoiding repeated OTA notifications but I haven't looked into it for the N7.

Hmm.... looks like a rather confusing process... for me who is new to Android at least.

SUppose I'm better off trying to find a micro USB to USB adapter.

you can download and flash the install-all package for 4.1 from google. Other than that you would need a kernel with the needed drivers enabled/added in for the wii-remote.

How do I flash it? Is it as simple as it is with like iPhone where you just like right click the upgrade and select the firmware you want?

i have just done this, and it is easy my friend, get yourself wugs nexus root tool kit, set it up with the step by step instructions ( in the program, very easy ), unlock device, root, and then click flash stock and unroot, choose 4.1 or what ever other stock rom from the list and your away.

really easy to do and great instructions.

ive been trying to get an xbox wireless controller working...for weeks, so i could use it with all the emulators ....zelda :-D

just flashed cyanogenmod 10.1 and bought a wired xbox controller.

anyway

good luck
