Can you edit the status bar/notification page shortcuts?

I would like to put different shortcuts up there (where the GPS, wifi, vibrate, etc are), like access to the volume controls, brightness control, etc. Is that possible?

I'm assuming you're talking about a method via app, and not through rooting or alternate ROMs. (See CM7 and MIUI, both of which feature controls in the pull downs off the status bar).

Search "status bar" or "Notification bar" in the market to see what else might be possible You might want to check out extended controls, can't remember if that was an option

extended control i recall just a widget for homescreen, does it also applicable for status bar?
