Can you forward an email as an attachment from gmail app?

Hi,

I have a gmail account that I access through both thunderbird on my laptop and the gmail app on my mobile, Samsung Galaxy S2 - a great phone! :)

Through a very complicated series of events (I wont bore you with the details!) I ended up deleting an entire email thread from the gmail server. I still have a copy of the thread cached in my gmail app on my phone (I have not synced it since the message was deleted). Once I sync my phone, the thread will be deleted so I'm looking at what I can do with the cached copy prior to syncing in order to rescue the thread.

Is it possible to forward emails as attachments in the gmail app (like you can do in thunderbird, select some emails and "Forward as attachments" from right-click menu)? I would then be able to copy the thread back into the email account and restore it as though it had never been deleted.

As an alternative I know that I would be able to do a standard forward of the email thread, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to get all the actual messages restored so that the correct date and times are displayed along with the original sender names and so on.

Any help greatly appreciated! :) thank you!
Beezo
