Help Can you get the wallpaper like iPhone? (Portrait not landscape)

When you chose set as wallpaper it makes it into portrait so you cannot see the whole thing. on my ipod touch 4g i can have a portrait wallpapers and it makes it so i can see the whole thing not just a zoomed in section like froyo makes it. Is there any way to make it like the iphone/itouch?

Not sure if it's a gingerbread thing but can't you stretch the box over the whole picture when you select a wallpaper rather than just a small section?
Failing that you could try one of the third party galleries like 3D gallery or Quickpic.

It's not making it portrait. It's landscape but it only shows you a portrait section. It scrolls.

There are apps to prevent wallpaper scrolling so what you see on one homescreen is the entire picture. However, the screen is portrait. To fit the entire landscape on there, it will be zoomed out with huge borders at the top and bottom.
