If on CRICKET,dial *228 to connect to the nearest tower/refresh your signal connection.
There are apps on the MARKET that do the same thing or something similar.
I myself use FRESH NETWORK PRO, it seems to help.
If you are rooted, you may also want to try out an app called MASQED CRUSADER.

Make sure you also periodically clear search histories in your browser, YOU-TUBE APP, & use a CACHE cleaner app to help your phone work at its best.
Another application for cleaning the cobwebs out of your phone & speeding things up is SD MAID.
