Help Can you rename protected file without root?

Murf1

Android Enthusiast
I want to rename the camera sound file to .bak so it stops the annoying sound. I'm not rooted and not going to on my phone. It will not allow me to rename it!

I was wondering if I could get around it by doing it in "command line". I have and android pad and I remember doing some command line stuff on it (forgotten syntax), but I cannot remember if I did it before or after I rooted the pad.

Is there a way to get around it and rename the file without rooting?

Thanks

Not sure if this helps but you can also delete the file or move it somewhere else instead of renaming it.
