Can you run apps using wifi?

I was wondering if you would be able to download and run apps using a wifi connection instead of a data plan because I don't feel like paying the extra $30 for a data plan. I have the LG Optimus One. Thanks!

Of course you can. I've done it before and it's good to sometimes to save precious data, just make sure you have a good connection so it downloads fast.

Some of us are wifi-only users. I've never even installed the SIM in my phone. Indeed, what you want can be done.

My Transformer Prime doesn't even have a phone capability, and the same for many tablets.
