Apps Can you tie a QR code to a user/device?

Hi,

I am developing an app using QR codes and want to fix a potential hole in the system. Unfortunately I can't lay it all out so I'll use an example ....

A security guard needs to know that a person genuinely works for the company before they are allowed in. The security guard holds all employees' photos on his device in the 'Scanner' app. Employee A comes up to the door and shows his QR code (acts as a pointer to the photo). The security guard scans it and the photo appears on his device which indicates that he is in fact an employee.

If Joe Bloggs were to use the QR code for Employee A then the wrong photo would come up. The problem comes when Joe Bloggs looks similar to Employee A and Employee A gives Joe Bloggs his QR code. Is there anyway to tie the QR code (generated by us) to a device so that the QR code can only be used with the specific device it was registered with?

I understand Google Analytics uses a unique code saved in the Preference area of the device which could be incorporated into the QR code. I thought maybe the preference code could be shown on both devices but someone could make a mock app to display Employee A's preference code on Joe Bloggs device.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Dre
