Can you Turn The Speaker off?

I have done some searching through the droid forums and the market and haven't been able to find anything. But I would like to be able to turn the speaker on my phone off completly sometimes. i work in an office and sometimes i have slacker/music playing and i pull my headphones out and the music starts blaring because it will play on the speaker. Is there a way to just disable the speaker I rarely use it and its only a nuisance to me.

well,the speaker is used for audible notifications ...but if you don't use them just set the phone to silent or vibrate.

it still plays music out of the speaker even in those modes

go into settings and go to sounds and display there is ringtone volume....which is when the phone rings, and media volume, you can adjust the media (music) and notifications or you can pair them.

My suggestion is to turn down the music before pulling your headphones out. The media volume can be turned down while the screen is off and music is playing.

What's cool about Pandora is that it pauses the music when the headphones are unplugged. Just another reason Pandora pwns.

I can always turn the music down.... but sometimes im running somewhere and forget I was just wondering... I paid for slacker for a year thats why I use it and pandora always plays the most random stuff I have never heard of so I don't use it, thanks for the help everyone.... and my music pauses when I pull my headphones out using the music player but not when I am using slacker....so its the slacker app

I'm pretty sure that the dev released a statement that the issue was fixed. I'm not 100% sure about that though.

Good question - I'll have to go back and look into it....

Thankfully, non of them has cause my SD card any problems, touch (knock on) wood.

Checkout "Buzzlock" on the Market.

It turns every audio notification off.

Beware, it also turn off the voice navigation on the GPS, you have to remember to turn Buzzlock off.
Fortunately, you can install the widget on the desktop and it is easy to turn on and off.
