Help Cannot accept incoming calls if ringtone is set from SD card

Hello,

About 3 weeks ago my phone all of a sudden stopped responding to incoming calls. When I receive a call I only get black screen and a small green telephone on the left of the screen. After that the phone crashes and I get a "com.android.phone is not responding" message on a "Force Close" prompt.

Today I finally found time to investigate this issue and I realized that this happens when the contact (or group of contacts) that is calling me is associated with a ringtone located on my SD card.

So if I set my ringtone to one of the defaults my phone works ok.

I have an 8gb SD card, I want to emphasize that the phone worked ok before 3 weeks. Every group was ringing with a ringtone from the SD card.

Today, I upgraded my firmware to 2.3.5, I formatted the 8gb SD card, I replaced the SD card with a 2gb card, but the problem is still there.

I even created a folder "ringtones" in my SD so that the external ring tones appear on the "phone ring tones" menu, but it still hangs.

My phone is not rooted (I haven't got the slightest idea how to do that) and reading this http://androidforums.com/sprint-her...change-causes-force-close-incoming-calls.html did not help.

I'll appreciate if someone is able to help me,

Thanx!!
