I'm away from home, using Google Maps for navigation. I knew Internet connectivity would be spotty or non-existant in some areas, so I downloaded a couple of maps. Problem is, once the Internet connection is lost, Google Maps will not let me access my saved maps. I try to open My Places, where I supposedly can access the offline maps, and I'm greeted with, not available, no service. If I cannot access the saved maps without a connection, what good is the feature?? It's as if I need to anticipate a lost connection before it happens, so I can switch to the saved maps while I still have a connection. Am I doing something wrong, or missing something???? All the Google support I've seen simply says open maps, go to My Places, and open the saved maps. Is there a workaround, or do I live with the way it is??? Thanks!!!
