Help Cannot "add shortcut to home" please help...

Hi,
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S with Froyo 2.2.
Here is a description of an issue I have with it.........

Whilst browsing a webpage I selected "add to bookmark" which worked fine.

I then selected "add shortcut to home" which initially gave me an error message "no room on page" or similar.
My "home" page has 2 "pages". Page 1 has no physical room (icons fill it) and page 2 is almost empty.

I dragged one of the icons on page 1 to page 2 which I believed would "free-up" an icon position.

Now when I try to "add shortcut to home" although I no longer get the "no room on page" error, the shortcut is not added to my home page.

Has anybody experienced this before or know what might be wrong?

Many thanks.

hmm weird cant say i have ever had an issues regardless of the firmware (2.1/2.2/now 2.2.1) i'm assuming the shortcut is 1x1? does it allow you to add them to your first page?

Did you factory reset after upgrading? If not that's what I would try. Backup first though.

Hi yeah I did reset after the updating.

I have found that I can in fact add...

...to my homepage by adding it as a bookmark, then pressing and holding on the bookmark and selecting "add to home".

What doesn't seem to work is if I am actually on the URL above and then select to "add to home".

Anyway, I thank you both for your help.
I am not so concerned now that I have found a workaround but obviously it is still a bug which needs ironing out by the guys who code the operating system(s).
