Help Cannot connect to Google anymore

Loloche

Lurker
Hi everyone,

I have a Xiaomi Note 3 bought in China some years ago.
Since a couple of weeks I cannot access google play anymore:
- first I had the error DF-DFERH-01, so I tried to clear cache of the play store, but no improvement.
- I therefore clear cache and uninstalled the account manager, service framework, google play service and the play store.
- I have re-installed those 4 apps with especially the google play service 20.50.66_(100400-351698872)-205066028_minAPI28(arm64-v8a,armeabi-v7a)(nodpi) which I think is adapted to my Mi Note with Android 9 and arm64-v8a architecture.
- I rebooted

but now I have the error message "here Was A Problem Communicating With Google Servers"
I tried again but no success.

Anybody can help me to diagnose the issue and fix it?

thanks in advance for your help !!!

Laurent

Looks like your Google Play Services is outdated.

https://google-play-services.en.uptodown.com/android

After you update, clear data from the Play Store and from Play Services.

Restart (reboot) the device, wait about 5-10 minutes, then open the Play Store app.

You may need to wait 5-10 minutes again.

This waiting is so that Google has a chance to recognize that the device needs some 'security updates' and to download info onto your device.

It may happen automatically, or it may occur when you open the Play Store app.

After you do the above, you will need to reset all of your settings on Google Play.

While you are there, be sure to make sure that you have the recent version of the Play Store and Google.

Hi

thanks for your message. I installed the new version of Play Service and proceeded the way you explained, but the issue is still there.
On another forum a guy is telling me Xiaomi banned Google Play on chinese roms and that I shall root it...

Yeah, I heard that Chinese devices are not accepting Google.

To be honest, I wish that the devices in the US were the same.

What exactly are you trying to achieve with Google that you cannot do with another app store and a few other things?

Hi

I am not in China anymore (for some time already).
I need to access google simply to get my apps updated. My bank app will not be available in market other than google for instance.
Which alternate market do you recommend then?

The two alternative markets that are often mentioned on here are APKmirror and APKpure, and have used them myself sometimes.
https://www.apkmirror.com/
https://apkpure.com/

AFAIK they have versions of some of the more popular banking apps.

BTW happy new year.

And don't forget about UpToDown.
Google is the largest appstore, UpToDown is the second largest.

Also, UpToDown, APKPure, and ApkMirror allow you to download previous versions of apps.

This can prove to be very useful sometimes.
