Hi guys

I just bought myself a USB OTG cable i managed to connect my Nexus to my HDD which lets me view movies and videos from the hdd at amazing speeds, but what i tried was to move files from the Nexus to the hdd which caused an error, now i tried this several times with different Explorer apps and all of them caused an error and the explorer kept showing files that were already removed from the drive, could this be power problems? or what choice do i have?

Im rooted using Stickmoung

Android doesn't have full ntfs support. It can read but can't write. If you want to edit ntfs you'll have to flash a molded kernel that has that functionality built-in.
As for the files that were already removed... Plug your drive into a pc and clear your recycle bin. Then check on the Nexus if you still see those :)
Deleting on windows doesn't actually delete.

Im on a mac actually...so do i need to flash a complete rom for the ntfs support? or is there a patch available?

It's a kernel actually, you can just keep using stock. Some kernels are tied to roms but most aren't.
I think motley's kernel has ntfs support, but I don't know if that'd be already optimized/smooth after 4.1.2
I'm fully stock still so I'm not I will the loop on that stuff atm.

Yep, how much depends purely on the device on the other end. It seems the N7 will push through as much power as a standard usb 2.0 on a pc, if needed. You can even use it to charge your smartphone (usb speed), but using it for an mSD card will drain very little.
When playing videos off my 750gb hdd, spinning at 7200rpm I think the extra drain was noticeable, but it's hard to say since I'm also playing video ofc.
